Our Historic Building
Welcome to our family owned restaurant, proudly nestled in a historic landmark that tells a tale of resilience and community spirit. Originally the Flake Bros. Store, established in 1892 by James Madison Flake and his brother Charles, this site has been a vital part of our town’s heritage. The construction faced tragedy when Charles was killed in an outlaw confrontation, shaping the early narrative of this remarkable establishment.
Despite the challenges, James persevered, creating a bustling general store on the main level and a welcoming social hall upstairs, supporting both his family and honoring his brother's memory.
In 1912, a fire devastated the building, leading to its transformation into a one-story structure. In 1999, Dean and Sandra Porter revitalized this cherished landmark, restoring its original charm.
We are honored to be part of the rich history of our town and invite you to join us in celebrating both our delicious cuisine and our storied past.
